Robert Basmadjian


Robert is Founder and Managing Partner of Spectrum Education Services.

Robert’s career in the private sector spans over 35 years, including 12 years in the publishing industry, where he represented a wide variety of consumer, business to business, and trade media organizations.  For the past 23 years, as Founder and Principal of Spectrum Marketing & Communications, an advertising and public relations firm specializing in the information technology industry, Robert has grown the company to become the leading communications consultancy in the automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) technology sector.

In addition to his private sector experience, Robert is committing his time and energies to a new philanthropic venture, recently being appointed as Chairman of Inspiring the American Dream Foundation. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the foundation, including communications, governance, finance, community outreach and fundraising.

Robert’s passion and commitment to education and workforce development have now led him to the formation of Spectrum Education Services. As a resident of Upstate, South Carolina, Robert serves on the Education Committee of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, where he is an active participant in the state’s Education and Workforce Development movement.

Before relocating to the Upstate, Robert served as vice president of the New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association (NJTA), a statewide nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to achieving real and sustainable tax reform in New Jersey. During his tenure, he was responsible for research, strategic planning, and coordination of NJTA’s communications and coalition-building activities. Robert’s work in helping to establish the New Jersey Taxpayers Alliance, a coalition of state business, civic and professional associations, received national notoriety at the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) 2009 Conference, where he presented NJTA’s positioning, branding and outreach strategy to a group of regional, state and national taxpayer organizations.

Robert has a B.S. in Business Management from Farleigh Dickinson University and a M.A. in Communications from William Patterson College.
